AXIS Multiprocessing System Configuration Software
Never has it been more true that system costs are dominated by software development and maintenance. To remain competitive, designs must be fielded quicker and must have longer lifetimes. To make this more difficult, COTS hardware platforms are more complex than ever and the underlying technology is being refreshed rapidly. What is needed is a suite of development tools that make it speedier to design, code and text complex real-time applications on multiprocessor systems. The tools should abstract the application from hardware without loss of performance, allowing the engineer to concentrate on their area of expertise – the application. This abstraction should allow the application to be tested on smaller system configurations when the full sized system may not be available. It should also allow the application to be moved forward to newer platforms and interconnects without major rewrites.
