Today finds us at Electronic Warfare 2018, a conference and exhibition in Warsaw, Poland centered on the increasing importance of EW and Cyber to the modern military. In fact, yesterday was Cyber Focus Day, providing the military, government agencies and industry organizations an opportunity to discuss ways to realign their electronic warfare and cyber capabilities while improving cooperation on joint operations.
Because electronic warfare is a key market segment for Abaco, we’re a sponsor of Electronic Warfare 2018, along with other major companies in our industry including Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins and Saab.
As the organizers point out, NATO plans to spend $3.24 billion over the next three years to advance its satellite and computer technology in line with new threats. In addition, NATO is spending $176m on next generation training equipment specifically for electronic warfare.
Beyond this, a recent article in Military Embedded Systems magazine notes that the global electronic warfare (EW) market - valued at more than $13 billion in 2017 - will grow at a combined annual growth rate of more than 2.6% to be worth $17.7 billion by 2027, according to a forecast by analysts at Strategic Defence Intelligence.
